Web Mapping Applications
The Web Mapping Application is an Adobe Flash application built from a modified version of the ESRI Sample Flex Viewer. Your browser will need the Flash plug-in, available from Adobe. The site was developed for Flash version 9 and later.
GULF OF MEXICO
  • New application Gulf of Mexico Region - This Web Mapping Application site includes data released for the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean region, usSEABED project and GLORIA project. Additional backscatter and sidescan sonar mosaics completed from various USGS/CMGP Gulf of Mexico seafloor mapping surveys have also been integrated into the web mapping application.

Internet Map Server sites
The Internet Map Server sites are html and javascript applications built using a modified version of the ESRI IMS Viewer. You will need to enable Active Scripting for your browser for the map viewer to work properly.
GULF OF MEXICO
  • GLORIA mapping program - Includes a composite mosaic of the 16 GLORIA sidescan sonar mosaics collected and processed by the USGS from 1982 - 1985, bathymetry contours and GLORIA interpretation. Additional backscatter and sidescan sonar mosaics completed from various USGS/CMGP Gulf of Mexico seafloor mapping surveys have also been integrated into the mapserver. This map site also include a number of additional data layers such as usSEABED surficial sediment data and Gas Hydrates assessments that cover the extent of the Gulf of Mexico.
