Publication Description

SeaMARC1A sidescan mosaic, cores and depositional interpretation of the Mississippi Fan: ArcView GIS Data Release; 2001, U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 00-352, 1 CD-ROM.

This CD-ROM releases data that were used in several publications dealing with processes associated with recent deposition on the Mississippi Fan.

Gulf of Mexico GLORIA sidescan sonar Geologic Interpretation: ArcView Data Coverages, 2000, U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 00-019

This CD-ROM contains copies of the 250m resolution GLORIA sidescan sonar mosaic for the Gulf of Mexico and it's geologic interpretation.

Atlas of GLORIA sidescan-sonar imagery of the Exclusive Economic Zone of the United States: EEZ-View, 1997, U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 97-540

This Open-File Report CD-ROM contains GLORIA (Geologic LOng-Range Inclined Asdic) sidescan imagery of all the deep-water portion (more than 200 meters) of the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) mapped during the 8 years of data collection. The images are accompanied by brief tutorial overviews of plate tectonics, remote sensing with GLORIA and highlights of interesting features from each of the geographic areas: East Coast, Gulf of Mexico, Puerto Rico, West Coast, Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands, Gulf of Alaska, Hawaiian Ridge, Johnston Island, Kingman Reef and Palmyra Atoll. Interactive links to word definitions, enlarged images, captions, shaded-relief images and geologic maps make this CD-ROM an attractive introductory tool for high school or college classes discussing marine geology or mapping with remote sensing.

CD-ROM Atlas of the Deepwater Parts of the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone in the Atlantic Ocean, the U.S. West Coast, and the Eastern Caribbean Sea, 1993, U.S. Geological Survey Digital Data Series DDS-15, 1 CD-ROM

This CD-ROM contains composite digital sidescan-sonar mosaics and geologic maps of the deepwater parts of the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the eastern Caribbean Sea. The data on this disc consist of the fully processed GLORIA sidescan-sonar images, geologic interpretations of the images, bathymetry overlays for the images, 21 seismic profiles collected in 1978 along the Atlantic continental margin, and a three-dimensional perspective of the entire eastern Atlantic. The GLORIA data on this disc were collected during 10 cruises between 1982 and 1987 for regions where water was more than 400 m deep.
